These go to 11

Well, we were originally told that the goal for Sydney's feed was to get to 10 ml per hour but the doctor is now telling us that she will go to 11 some time tonight. She has gained all the way up to 4 lbs and 2 ounces. Of course as parents we were concerned when she wasn't gaining weight and now we are worried that she is gaining too much weight too fast. But the really good news is that she has her IV out.

We started kangaroo care this afternoon which may be the best thing ever. We take Sydney out of her clothes and cuddle her skin to skin for about an hour. She was so cute, sleeping with her head on her hand and it was wonderful to get to hold her so close. The nurses say that its great for her to get to feel out heartbeats and learn our smells. I just like that she is sleeping so peacefully right next to us.
